PornStar for School

A few years ago, a story came out in the Advocate about a Miami University student regarding a guy who was using money raised by performing in gay porn to pay for school. Apparently, so did a young man at Grove City College north of Philadelphia and was suspended for a year pending review. He is now appealing.

A student is appealing his suspension from a Christian college in western Pennsylvania for appearing in gay porn videos using a pseudonym.

Twenty-two-year-old John Gechter, of Philadelphia, was suspended for one year pending appeal from Grove City College after a student saw him last month in a video posted online.

Gechter is appealing the suspension and says he may sue claiming that the gay porn job isn't any of the school's business, especially since he performed using the name "Vincent DeSalvo." Gechter says he used his porn income to pay for his schooling.

School officials say Gechter is suspended because Gechter was well aware his porn involvement "exhibited behavior contrary to the values" of the school about 50 miles north of Pittsburgh.

Vincent deSalvo is a performer with RandyBlue (pictures here, clip here -- NEITHER OF WHICH IS SAFE FOR WORK! SERIOUSLY!). Actually, I don't think he's all that cute. Meh. Different strokes.

Miami's student, as I understood, was not punished, but the administration took special interest in his case so that he was not harassed for his decision, which I thought was strong work on the (usually) conservative admin there.

Ha -- I said strokes.

Even if he said the following quote (which he did not)...

“I know people will find that as another thing to hate me on, but fuck it,” West said. “I’m open to doing porn. Hell, I’ll even do bisexual scenes - myself, another man and a woman, or just me and two women. I know people will find that as some weird shit, but I am who I am.”

...let's be honest. Successful hip-hopper, top of his game, admitting to not having a problem sleeping with another man? Yea, ok.

That's not even remotely believable. And, if it was, this is how it would run down: Kanye in a porn. "Two guys" = gang bang of one female. Any one-on-one with another guy would be Kanye on top. Even though the man likes attention, that would eliminate any street cred the man would have.

I seriously doubt his audience would accept anything else.

Because, you know, if you're getting head, you aren't gay.

It's sad, really, because we are in desperate need of a hip-hopper or someone who is presentably black (ie, their central identity being black) to come out. It would do a lot for the movement. Also, I'm a little disappointed. Because we all know I have a thing for black men, and, if Kanye did it, god knows how many others would suddenly say, "You know, I could be down with that too."

Meanwhile, in Kanye world, I'm sure he has no problem with all the attention he's getting out of this. This is the response from his blog:

HIV/AIDS: Gay Porn Industry Scandal

AS sent me this link from the BBC -- he's one of my dear straight friends, so it's an unusual source for a gay story.

There is a scandal going down in the gay porn industry in Britain about the barebacking movement, which, according to the article, makes up 60% of all sales these days.

Most heterosexual pornography has never featured condoms. But showing unprotected sex became taboo in gay porn after HIV and Aids emerged in the 1980s...

Some health officials believe this is a sign of a wider complacency in society about the risks of HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases which is mirrored in rising statistics for new infections.

Ceri Evans, Senior Sexual Health Adviser at West London Centre for Sexual Health, told Newsnight: "I think that there is a possibility of something being called condom fatigue.

"We have been talking about condoms so long that people are bored or think they know it all. Education in schools is not what it could be, for anybody, for heterosexual but particularly if you are gay."

Thank god someone is finally doing something about this. Barebacking vids on all sorts of websites, all the time. There's a problem there.

Thank you to Ms. Evans for calling the lack of sexual education for LGBT youth. Thank to Chi Chi LaRue and directors like Sean Cody and Rob Navarro who continue to pointedly use condoms in their films.

Well, most of them, at least.

(I am not researching the names of the films, or actors, or anything else about the films because I do not want to be the one to make them famous. Especially the one that, reportedly, shows the point at which someone became infected.)
