Being Alive

I worked this show years ago and never liked it (it's Company by Sondheim). The songs, though, stuck with me, and this one is on the short list of songs I listen to on my iPod these days. And it's sung here by Bernadette Peters!!!

Funny, I have no idea why this is relevant :-).

Oh, and while I'm watching Company videos, why am I so drawn to this character?

Mother Chanak, if you drank, I have a feeling that you and I would one day have a not too dissimilar conversation in a bar.

I most love "Being Alive" done by the original cast ( I can't remember his name to save my life). There's also a great version from Sondheim's revue "Putting it Together" with the ever-so-yummy John Barrowman.

Reminds me of my summer bartending at Union Station. You lunched in there a few times, Lady. =)

Ahhh... those were good lunches.

And yea, Krystal... I have two versions on my iPod.. the original is the other one. I'm shocked I love it as much as I do.

Back in the days of CDs, did you ever listen to a CD so much that it stopped playing? I didn't think it was possible until I got Bernadette Peters; "Sondheim, Etc." album in May 1997. I had to buy a replacement album in 2004 and then converted to MP3. I don't listen to it quite so much these days, but it still makes regular appearances - especially that song.
